Visas and immigration
Most international students who will sit in a classroom in Skipton or Ilkley need a UK Student route visa. Online students stay at home and do not.
The order that works
- 01Hold an unconditional offer, or a conditional offer with every condition met.
- 02Pay the £3,500 deposit.
- 03Complete the credibility and document checks we are required to make.
- 04Receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies.
- 05Apply for the visa in your country of residence, with financial evidence and, where required, a tuberculosis test.
- 06Travel only when the visa is granted. A receipt is not a visa.

Irish citizens follow the Common Travel Area and do not use the Student route. Short study-abroad stays sometimes use a different permission. The exchange team will say which one applies to your partnership.
